A low bowl of flowers waiting at a hotel front desk in a lobby hold

This is the card you tuck into the inquire: the facts a front desk can search, and the heat a wrap has to survive between the car and the lobby. It is a sibling to the long hotel-drop guide, not a replacement for it. Messages go to sales@tabaconda.com.

What to put in the inquire

Bouquet
Same-day stems for a hotel room.

Write these in order. A room number without the first three is not a drop. Downtown inns on Lake Eola, I-Drive convention houses, park-week campuses, and the airport hotel belt all hold flowers against the reservation, not against a guess.

  1. Guest name as booked. The name on the folio, a partner, a parent, a points account, not the name on the birthday card if those differ.
  2. Hotel name as booked. Copy the property line from the confirmation. International Drive repeats house words. “The one on I-Drive” is not an address.
  3. Arrival date (and departure if you have it). Airport-belt and park-week hotels turn rooms overnight.
  4. Tower versus lobby. If the confirmation names a tower, a building, a villa row, or a wing, copy that line. A wrap at the wrong lobby is a guest who never sees it.
  5. Window. Morning hold, check-in, a dinner. Prefer a front-desk hold in air conditioning over an afternoon chase across a campus.
  6. Card message. Short is fine. Send it with the inquire so it is already on the wrap.
  7. Hold notes. Surprise or not. Shade, water, air conditioning. Whether you want a front-desk hold or a walk to the room. Assume the hold unless the house has already agreed to walk it.

Heat and shade

Cut stems cook in a parked car. Ask for a lobby hold, not a wait in a lot off I-4 or International Drive while someone finds the correct tower. If the flowers will sit on a patio for a birthday dinner, say whether the table is in sun or under a canopy. A low bowl takes afternoon Orlando better than a tall vase. After the guest has the wrap, recut the stems and put them in clean water the same day. A hotel bathroom tumbler is enough to start.

The long reading is still the hotel-drop guide. Welcome language lives on welcome to the hotel. Same-day routing is the same-day flowers page.

For the recut, later

Once the wrap is inside, Penn State Extension’s aftercare note is the hotel-bathroom version: clean vessel, recut at an angle, leaves out of the water. The buying-guide version of this kit, guest-name hold, wrap versus vase, gear for the I-Drive ride, lives at /kits/hotel-drop/. Hub: Hotel-drop kits. Compare: wrap vs hotel arrangement.
