Park weeks and birthday weeks share a calendar in this city. The recipient is often not at a house. When the birthday is a resort
Afternoon in Central Florida is hard on cut stems. A wrap that sits in a parked car while the family is still in line is a wilted birthday. Ask for a front-desk hold in air conditioning, or a handoff at the door of the room if the hotel will walk it up. The card message can be short. The geography still has to be named. “Birthday, south Orlando resort campus, arriving Friday, hold at the front desk” is a drop. “Birthday flowers, Orlando” is a riddle.
When the birthday is a house
Plenty of Orlando birthdays are a porch: bungalows near Lake Eola, gated streets off I-4, a Lake Nona house, a downtown landing. A porch drop is still a heat problem. Afternoon sun on a west-facing stoop will cook a wrap in paper. Name a shaded corner, a covered entry, or a handoff at the door. Send a gate code if the street does not open to a stranger with flowers.
